Hamilton: "It's so Hardy Boys"    Jake: "Yeah, meets Nancy Drew"

The Shore Things
Young Hollywood's freshest stars model summer 2000's slickest swimsuits.

The fresh-faced actors of the WB's latest teen drama, Young Americans, are spending their summer filming in Baltimore. But the long hours didn't dampen the gangs enthusiasm for putting on swimwear for US weekly. "If it's hot," says Rodney Scott, 22, a native Ocean City, Maryland, "I'm going to be in swim trunks."

The same goes for Katherine Moennig, 23, a Philadelphian who says "I like bikinis." What's not to like? "One-piece suits make me feel claustrophobic," says Kate Bosworth, 17, who hails from Boston. "It's weird when your stomach is pale and the rest of you is tan." Rounding out the YA cast is Covington, Louisiana native Ian Somerhalder, 21, who loves people-watching in the Hamptons; and the show's lone anti-beach person: Clinton, Connecticut , native Mark Famiglietti, 21. "Sand travels from the lining of your bathing suit to your sandwiches," he says. "I'm a lake guy."
